translation4media was set up by Larisa Villar Hauser, a writer and translator with a lifetime’s experience thinking and speaking in different languages.
Larisa grew up in London within a Spanish-Austrian household and went to a bilingual school. At 16 she took part in a summer programme for developing translation skills in bi-lingual children. Larisa carried out her first translation project while a student at the London School of Economics, and went on to set up translation4media in 2005. She specialises in translating for film, TV, publishers and other media. Larisa has a list of regular film and TV clients and is currently expanding into translating for publishers. Her first book translation, BOY IN A WHITE ROOM by Karl Olsberg was released on May 6, 2021 by Chicken House Books.
As well as being a translator Larisa is a children’s author. Her debut novel, Uma and Imp, was published independently by ImpPrint Books. She lives in London with her daughter.
